2022-08-20 07:44:45 By : Mr. guan zong

Every week we will introduce you to some of the most adorable, adoptable pets available from our partner shelters Heart of Minnesota Animal Shelter, Tri-County Humane Society, Pet Haven of MN, Hawk Creek Animal Shelter, Underdog Rescue, MN, Midwest Animal Rescue & Services and Ruff Start Rescue. Join us Fridays as we introduce them to you on Classic Hits KDUZ.

Heart of Minnesota Animal Center – Valentine

I am an independent lady who doesn’t like to be fussed over too much. It may take a while before i am comfortable but when I know you better, I am friendly and affectionate in my own way. I need a quiet home with experienced cat parents who will be very patient and gentle with me.

I am learning to be a quiet, social feline who loves to sit in my cat tower and observe adoption hours with enthusiasm. She enjoys her perch and occasional rub downs from our volunteers. She could sit there all day long. She has come a long way and would love to blossom more in your home. Ia also love catnip and string toys with feathers (but then again, who doesn’t?)

Ruff Start Dog & Cat Rescue – Smokey

Word on the street is that you have the best T-R-E-A-T-S in town, is that true? If so, I’m Smokey and I think I’m the best candidate for the position of your treat-taker, purr-maker, attention-loving feline companion. I’m a 2-year-old female Domestic Short Hair cat and I’m as sweet as they come.

I love pets and head rubs and I will show you my love and affection by purring loudly and rubbing up against your legs. Someone cut my whiskers so I’m not quite as coordinated as my fellow felines, but this doesn’t stop me from running and jumping as I please. My favorite thing is the scratching post at my foster home and am good about only scratching what I’m allowed to.

So, how about those treats? I’m waiting on you!

Hawk Creek Animal Shelter – Beta

Howdy, Beta here ready for my spotlight! I am a Saint Bernard/Golden Retriever mix and almost 10 months old. I enjoy booty scratches and a good cuddle session on your lap. I walk well on a leash and want to be right next to you all the time. Loud noises and fast movements will scare me. I did fail firefighter school. So, don’t like fire hydrants, but water is my favorite thing in the world! I will pounce in and out of the waves like a rabbit. I will jump right into your heart, too.

Midwest Animal Rescue & Services (MARS) – Cadbury

Cadbury is a real sweetie who loves to cuddle. She has had no accidents in the house, sleeps in her kennel at night, knows how to sit, and also knows how to fetch the tennis ball. Loves sticks and loves human hugs. She is having a hard time adapting to city life. She gets pretty spooked by cars zooming by, buses and garbage trucks. These are all unfamiliar sounds and sites to her.

At this time, we do not know how she will be with cats or small kids. She can be particular about the other dogs she lives with and doesn’t always want to share the human attention with them. She is a beautiful girl inside and out and just seeking the right home.

Tri-County Animal Shelter – Pippy

Pippy thinks it’s time to stop being polite and start getting real. She thinks it’s just silly that she hasn’t been adopted yet.  This 2-year-old is quite independent, but for those who are willing to accommodate her, she’s very sweet. We think Pippy would do best as a solo kitty; she’s been very selective about her feline friends in the past. She is very inquisitive and has even used a kitty exercise wheel in the past.

Pippy qualifies for our $5 fabulous feline promo or her adoption fee could be waived for a senior or veteran. To find out more about her, or to give her a new furr-ever home, please click here.

Underdog Pet Rescue of MN – Pup Tart

Hello, my name is Pop Tart. I am a lovely and super sweet adult female Dachshund who is nervous around strangers, men, loud noises, and commotion like barking dogs. I have not yet met any cats, but I am good with other dogs and kids and once I trust my people, I loves me some cuddles and quality lap time, I know you have room for a little 8-pound dog on your lap!

I am a very happy girl who loves to explore, follow my people around, roll around in the grass, play with soft toys, and steal shoes and laundry (hee, hee!!). I will holler if I’m left alone, and I get very playful after being in my kennel/crate. I have no doubt that you understand because I’m sure YOU would be excited to get out too if you were locked in a box for any length of time…just sayin’!! I know commands like “come”, “outside”, and “go potty” and I am working diligently on potty training. As for the leash, mom uses a special harness when we walk because I like to pull her around the neighborhood (hee, hee)!!

Anyway, I am looking for a patient, Dachshund savvy family who will love me unconditionally and NEVER give up on me. If you are looking for a precious and amazingly sweet companion with whom to share your life, then you have found your match and I hope we get to meet super soon!! Love, Pop Tart

Pet Haven of Minnesota – Icabod

Ichabod (or Iggy) is a 3 1/2-year-old giant kitten looking for his forever home! He is VERY talkative, loves to meow when he’s hungry, excited, bored, surprised, and happy. He also trills to greet you and when he jumps up to his cat tree or on the couch to get cuddles and pets. It’s pretty adorable!

Iggy’s hobbies are eating, sleeping, playing, getting pets, and meowing. He is very food motivated! His foster has done some clicker training with him and thinks he could definitely learn some cool moves if his adopter spends time training him. He’s a smart boy! When he’s not eating food, he likes to dream about food while sleeping in comfy, high places. He loves to sleep on the top bed of his cat tree, or on a computer chair he stole from one of his humans. He’s also learning to be a cuddler, so he’ll jump up on your lap and nudge your hand for gentle pets while purring and making loving biscuits on your legs!

Since he grew up outside in a cat colony, he’s still learning how to be gentle when he plays with other cats and to trust humans. He’s come a long way since being in foster care, but he’ll need someone who can be patient and pick up on his kitty body language. His ideal home would be large enough for him to run around in and with someone who is home often to play with him. He would likely do well with another kitty buddy to play with, an outgoing playful buddy his size.

Although he does have FIV, he can still live a very normal and healthy life. He will just need to be with another cat who shares his status, or with a calm and friendly cat-savvy doggo.
